Information to make parents and carers aware they have the right to withdraw:
Religious Education (RE)
Parents and carers have the right to request that their child is withdrawn from all or part of RE. However, we regard RE as an integral part of our curriculum and an important way for children to learn about different beliefs and cultures.
Sex Education
During 1 or 2 of the lessons in Years 4, 5 and 6, parents have the right to request to withdraw their child from the small non-statutory, Sex Education elements of the lesson. These will be the lessons on human reproduction. You are unable to withdraw your child from any lessons within Relationship or Health Education (this includes puberty and menstruation).
