Opening Hours and Term Dates
The school day for pupils in Reception to Year 6 is 8.40am - 3.20pm.
Playground gates close at 8.50am. Any pupil arriving after this time must enter through the front office where they are marked as late in the register. Children who are late experience an unsettled start to their school day and miss out on crucial early morning activities to support their learning for the day.
At the end of the day, gates open just before 3.20pm, so that parents are ready to collect when children are dismissed at 3.20pm.
Any pupils not collected by 3.30pm will attend Tea Club, where charges incur per pupil.
Nursery
Morning Nursery sessions start at 8.45am.
Afternoon Nursery sessions start at 12.30pm.
Wrap Around Care
Breakfast Club is available from 7.45am and a Tea Club until 4.30pm. Please enquire at the school office.
Attendance
Pupils are required to be at school every day unless there are exceptional circumstances.
Parkfield aims for all pupils to have an attendance of at least 96%.
Term-Time Absence
All families are reminded to not take holidays or extend their travels during term-time.
Taking holidays in school time is not acceptable. Parents may ask for leave of absence for exceptional circumstances only and should expect a fixed-penalty notice for each child if they do not have the Principal’s permission.
